The APG Foundation

The APG Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to people diagnosed with cancer and to help them obtain medications and prosthetics. Since our founding in 2002, we’ve provided over $600,000 to more than 1,100 Iowans in need.

Nonprofit Organization

The APG Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, which means gifts to us are tax-deductible. We’re run by a volunteer board of directors.

Our Funding Sources

We’re funded entirely by donations and private fundraising. Each spring we hold a pancake breakfast to help raise funds.

Namesake Tribute

The APG Foundation was inspired by Anna Purna Ghosh, the mother of Chirantan Ghosh, M.D., an oncologist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Anna lived a life based on the desire to help others and was known for her kind and generous nature. Anna taught her family the importance of changing the lives of others by giving when you’re able. When her son earned his medical degree, she told him, “Don’t ever forget the people who have no resources.”
